The Real World Games 2022
Over the last 2 years, all Australians have been impacted by prolonged lockdowns. Those affected most have often been our older adults, who either became isolated in their aged care home or reduced their access to their community.
We want to give older adults the confidence and capability to get back into the real world!
In April 2022, we designed a series of events that mimic typical obstacles older adults may face in the community. Each event incorporated a different environment, skill and challenge. Over 4 weeks, each competitor recieved the support and training of their allied health team to conquer all challenges. We’ designed challenges for all mobility and functional levels.
The games concluded in a week of daily live-streamed events where competitors all across Australia competed for “Real World Games” glory!
Our aim was to make as many older adults as possible, community ambulant! And of course, have some fun along the way.
Access the Leaderboard
Throughout the events, we kept a live leaderboard to track the competitors progress. Those who reached the podium will be rewarded with a medal.
